Three years after getting busted by the state for making false claims, Scottsdale-based Liberty League International is being sued in federal court over claims that the company is running a pyramid scheme.
The class-action suit, first reported by courthousenews.com, accuses Liberty League, at 14300 North Northsight Boulevard, Suite 210, in Scottsdale, of conning $5 million out of its "members."
The company promised members big returns for some kind of business plan. In reality, the suits say
A lawyer for Liberty League International of Scottsdale wrote to us after our recent post about a $5 million lawsuit against the company. Not surprisingly, he rejects our gut-feeling theory that Liberty League has probably violated the terms of a 2005 settlement with Arizona Attorney General Terry Goddard.
We've pasted parts of that settlement following the lawyer's letter. If anyone knows whether Liberty League has violated these terms, feel free to write in.

In surfing around the Internet for our recent posts on Scottsdale's Liberty League International, we came upon a remarkably similar outfit -- also in Arizona -- called Life Path Unlimited. Life Path gives a "mailing address" of 37555 North Hum Road in Carefree.
Our two cents: It's another ripoff. Like Liberty League, Life Path Unlimited seems to hinge on getting you to buy motivational CDs and seats at conferences, all to teach you how to get people to buy the same thing. And so on.
