The Offspring's June 1 show, which was scheduled for Mesa Amphitheatre, has been switched to The Marquee. There was scheduling conflict, we've been told. Tickets are still available here.While I wasn't super excited about this show at Mesa Amp, seeing a band this big at a mid-sized venue like Marquee Theatre should be a real treat for anyone who's in to mid-90's punk. I'd venture Dexter Holland hasn't played so intimate a room since he had dreads.
The last time I went out to The Marquee Theatre, The Offspring made themselves at home amongst the sweaty, aging punk audience. Friday night's performance by The Joey Arroyo Band at this very same venue can be described in two words that The Offspring show could not: civil and desolate.
