  • Paula Abdul Hosting Phooson Tonight

So, if there's one thing I thought Phooson, tonight's popped up show at Cricket was missing, it was some B-list hosting talent. Luckily, Johnjay and Rich are bringing in the big guns: Paul Abdul. The American Idol hostess will join the disc jocks on stage at Cricket Pavillion to introduce Rihanna, Fall Out Boy, Katy Perry, Jesse McCartney, Varsity Fanclub, Tokio Hotel, and the Pussycat Dolls. Here's hoping she struggles to find a nice way to discuss the bad performances before just giving up, cl

  • Phooson: Pussycat Dolls Are Such Bad Lip-Synchers

So i've seen some bad lip-synchers, but the Pussycat Dolls pretty much take the cake. At times none of them were even trying to hold a mic near their face. At one point one of the Dolls introduced them as a dancing-singing group and the description was apt, as they did have some moves. Paula Abdul introduced the group (two are from the 602, it seems) and she's out here again before Fallout Boy being subjected to the humilation of dancing to "Straight Up" while some small town radio jock pressure

So you missed last night's Phooson 2008? No worries. We've got you covered with a few concert highlights from Katy Perry, Tokyo Hotel, Fallout Boy and The Pussycat Dolls. It seems Rihanna was a bit camera shy when it came to video unfortunately. Don't ask us why, we think she looked great on stage. -- Jonathan McNamara

  • Ready, Set, Go! It's Time To... Move My Lips and Pretend I'm Singing

So I've been getting raked over the coals by Tokio Hotel fans over the last few days because I wrote a blog pointing out that, well, it's kinda weird for teenage girls to be attracted to a guy who looks a lot like them. I asked why, I got a few thoughtful (and a lot of crazy) replies. Sample: YOU EAT SHIT. tokio hotel is cool, and you smell like smelly cattle. bill doesnt look like Boy George. you do! Martin Cizmar is GAY! (if that is you) your a Asshole. Children... so precious.ANYWAY, wi

  • The Year in Music: 2008's Top Ten Pop Songs

By Annie ZaleskiPop music often gets a bad rap for being disposable or vapid, and in many cases that's true. (Katy Perry, Danity Kane and the Pussycat Dolls, step right up!) But every year, a few irresistible bits of innovative ear candy rocket up the charts and seep into our subconscious. The following ten singles saturated the Top 40 -- or what passes for hit-oriented radio in this topsy-turvy musical climate -- while proving that accessibility doesn't necessarily preclude creativity. • Scottsdale's Scott MacIntyre Blindingly Good On 'Idol'

So, it'd be easy to reduce blind singer Scott MacIntyre to a series of puns about his visual impairment (read: the title of his post). Lots of other bloggers refer to him as Blind Guy, and he's actually got a good sense of self-deprication about the whole thing, so we don't think he would really mind a few blind jokes at his expense (see: Telling Seadouche to give him a high five. "I'm a stationary target!" he says). But here's the thing: unlike other Idol contestants who milk their backstory fo

  • Pussycat Doll Ashley Roberts To Choreograph Routine For Phoenix Suns Dance Team Tryout

Ashley Roberts, a Phoenix-bred member of The Pussycatt Dolls dancing (and "singing") squad will script a routine for the Suns Dancers audition, which is scheduled for Saturday. Roberts, who reportedly spilled the beans on the group's impending breakup a few weeks back (something their spokesman denied), is making the journey back from Europe, where the group is on tour, for the occasion. If you're interested in joining the team -- or making a fool of yourself while meeting Roberts -- you can
