10 Favorite Spots for Late-Night Eats in Metro Phoenix
It can be tricky to find a bite after 10 p.m. in the Valley. And though the surplus of Filiberto's and other fast-food options fulfill certain types of cravings, there are times when a drive-thru burrito or burger just won't do.
Fortunately, there are a number of businesses around town that offer better-than-average eats well into the night, and with a little bit of luck, that number will continue to grow. Until then, we've got you covered for where to go when it's closing time but you're not ready to go home.
From bibimbap to biscuits and gravy, here are some of our favorite spots for late-night spots in metro Phoenix.
Jobot is the place to be during the wee hours on Roosevelt Row.
Jobot Coffee & Diner / Facebook
A fixture on Roosevelt Row, Jobot has been managing downtown dwellers' late-night munchies for the better part of a decade. Open weekdays until midnight and 24 hours on Friday and Saturday, Jobot's menu declares "all the food is served all day." This means you can get breakfast items, salads, and loaded sandwiches at almost any hour of the night. Don't forget the crepes — they are our 2015 Best of Phoenix Best Crepes for a good reason.
Play some pool and enjoy a juicy wineburger at Harvey's until 2 in the morning.
Don't say there aren't options for a decent burger after dark: Harvey's Wineburger serves a juicy one for $7 to $10 every night until 2 a.m. There are plenty of bar snacks and other types of sandwiches at Harvey's, but we swear by the original wineburger. We think it's best enjoyed in the dimly lit bar near closing time, in between rounds of pool or darts with a cold something to wash it down.
Bitter & Twisted helps to hold down the fort for late-night food in downtown Phoenix.
Bitter & Twisted
We already know that Bitter & Twisted shakes a mean cocktail, but the B&T kitchen also is open until 1:30 a.m. Tuesday through Saturday. Though not everything on the cocktail parlor's menu is available late, hungry guests can still get in on dishes such as Hurricane Popcorn and green chili mac. In order to keep its food offerings fresh and exciting, Bitter & Twisted likes to switch up things from time to time, so be sure to discuss the options with your bartender first.
The Munchies Cafe
ASU students have all the luck with The Munchies Cafe serving Mediterranean food for dine-in or takeout every night until 3 a.m. Late-night study breaks can involve gyros, chicken shawarma salad, dolmades, and other tasty items. Best yet? You can order from Munchies Cafe online, making the transition from starving at the library to full at the dorms even easier.
Cozy up on Welcome Diner's patio for some late-night biscuits and gravy.
Welcome Diner / Facebook
Sitting on the patio at Welcome Diner is like relaxing in a friend's backyard, except that Welcome Diner has fresh biscuits, burgers, and delicious snacks such as poutine and watermelon salad. Open until 2 a.m. every day except Monday, Welcome Diner also has a long list of libations, including original and classic cocktails, as well as canned beer. We think you should stick around, pet someone's dog, and meet a few of your neighbors in the — ahem — welcoming environment.
Cafe Ga Hyang
Located in Glendale, Cafe Ga Hyang serves great Korean food well after most other restaurants have shut their doors. Although closed Monday, Cafe Ga Hyang stays open until 2 a.m. Tuesday through Saturday, and until 11 p.m. on Sunday. Order bibimbap and bulgoki, sip down soju, and thank your lucky stars that there is not only excellent Korean food in metro Phoenix, but excellent Korean food available late.
Don't be distracted by the cocktails — Counter Intuitive also serves some excellent eats.
Counter Intuitive / Facebook
Like Bitter & Twisted, Counter Intuitive is known best for its high-aiming cocktail program, but guests also can get tasty bites to go with their drinks. Though Counter Intuitive's menu changes often — the bar has a new theme every few months — past offerings from the New Orleans-themed menu included bacon beignets, gator bites, and salt and vinegar chicharrones. The only downside? Counter Intuitive is open only on Friday and Saturday nights from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m.
You can grab a delicious burger at Delux until 2 in the morning.
Delux Burger / Facebook
Delux Burgers has been one of the Valley's late-night staples for over a decade. Serving Niman Ranch burgers, panini, salads, and sushi every night until 2 a.m., this Biltmore-area restaurant is a prime location for nighttime diners. Don't forget to grab a basket of mixed fries: The sweet potato and regular French fries come in a miniature grocery cart that is as entertaining as it is clever.
Urban Beans is the latest member of the 24-hours-a-day club. In an effort to round out the Valley's late-night and early-morning options for people with unique work schedules, Urban Beans offers its entire kitchen menu all day. Diners can expect breakfast and lunch items, including sandwiches, salads, and soups.
Grand Avenue Pizza Company is a welcome sight when late-night hunger pangs strike.
Grand Avenue Pizza Company
Grand Avenue Pizza Company is the perfect place to cap off a night out on the town. Take in a show at Crescent Ballroom and end up at the pizzeria, which serves hot pies until 4 a.m. every day except Sunday. Grab a full-size pizza or a single slice of classic pepperoni, cheese, or veggie specials. Grand Avenue Pizza Company also serves calzones, salads, and vegan pizza. Better yet, Grand Avenue Pizza Company will deliver your pizza to you until 3:30 a.m.
