November 2017's health inspections produced lots of past-expiration-date food still in refrigerators, food debris where debris has no business, and cockroaches both living and dead It wasn't the worst month, but a few big name hotels were nailed with the D hammer. In all,10 Valley restaurants earned a dreaded D.

"Hard boiled eggs dated 10/24, goat cheese dated 10/20 and thai peanut sauce dated 9/25, had PIC discard items kept past discard date."
Burger Theory @ Holiday Inn (1515 North 44th Street)
"Found large open tray of raw fish being stored over cooked chicken wings in bottom of prep table cooler. Had cook move raw product below ready to eat foods. Please ensure raw animal products are not stored over ready to eat foods to prevent contamination."
Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites (12800 North Saguaro Boulevard, Fountain Hills)
"On hooks throughout kitchen, ladle, measuring spoons, peelers with accumulation of food debris on food and nonfood contact surfaces."

"Unadulterated and Honestly Presented Blocks of cheddar and jack cheese were stored, unwrapped and completely open, directly on storage racks in walk-in cooler. Debris was directly on the surface of both cheeses and on the racks where the cheeses were stored."

"Both of the reach-in coolers were observed holding above 45*F. Establishment does not have sufficient refrigeration to operate. The permit was suspended until both reach-in coolers hold below 41*F or additional refrigeration is obtained."
