Dinner with Paula Wolfert Wednesday, April 22
Two years ago, legendary cookbook author Paula Wolfert was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. This Wednesday, the Alzheimer's Association Desert Southwest Chapter will host a dinner honoring her culinary accomplishments, as well as her work as an ambassador for early Alzheimer's diagnosis. For the event, six of the Valley's top chefs, including Christopher Gross, Aaron May, Kevin Binkley, Beau McMillan, Matt Carter, and James Porter, will prepare a six course dinner celebrating Wolfert's award-winning cooking. The dinner will be held in a private Paradise Valley residence, and is limited to 100 guests. Proceeds from the $250 tickets benefit the Alzheimer's Association Desert Southwest Chapter, and can be reserved by calling 602-528-0545.
Little Cleo's Wednesday, April 22
With likely only a few weeks left before we're sweating in the triple digits, now is the perfect time to celebrate Phoenix's perfect spring weather. This Wednesday, chef Eric Ramirez will highlight the season at a Spring Supper at Little Cleo's Seafood Legend in Phoenix. The six-course dinner starts off with an oyster shooter with gin, tomato water, and celery shrub, followed by dishes such as cuttlefish pad thai and Hokkaido scallops with king oyster mushrooms. Changing Hands Bookstore Thursday, April 16

Whether you're looking for like-minded oenophiles, or just tired of defaulting to the second cheapest bottle on the liquor store bottom shelf, you may want to join fifth-generation wine industry insider Lorenzo Mattoni this Thursday at Changing Hands Bookstore in Phoenix. The native of Umbria, Italy will spend the evening discussing the wines of Sicily -- and with a 2,500-year history of wine-making, the region offers something for everyone to learn about wine. Class begins at 7 p.m., and is limited to 30 participants. The $35 ticket includes admission and six tastings. All featured bottles will be offered to take home at special pricing.
