Tempe Empty Bowls Tomorrow and Saturday, February 21
This Friday and Saturday you can help fight local hunger by heading to the Tempe Empty Bowls event. Attendees can purchase a handmade ceramic bowl for $10, which Whole Foods will fill with a simple lunch of soup and bread. Proceeds from the bowls will go to local charities including the Tempe Community Action Agency, the Escalante Community Garden, and United Food Bank's Kid's Café program. On Friday, the event will be held at 6th Street Park (just south of City Hall in Downtown Tempe) and on Saturday at the Community Center Courtyard at 3500 South Rural Road. Both events will go from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. For more information check the Tempe Empty Bowls Facebook.
Dogs for Dogs Adoption Event Sunday, February 22
We love dogs and we love beer so when you present an opportunity to have both in one place, you can always count us in. This Sunday Brat Haus in Scottsdale will host a Dogs for Dogs Adoption Event in collaboration with the Foothills Animal Rescue. There will be dogs up for adoption at the bar and restaurant, as well as happy hour food and beer deals, and $1 of every beer sold will benefit the rescue. Oh, and don't worry if you've already got a pooch -- just bring your own pup and you'll get free doggy "brats" for a year. The event goes from noon to 5 p.m. For more information check the Brat Haus Facebook page.
National Margarita Day Fiesta Sunday, February 22
Who doesn't love a margarita? Especially poolside in the middle of February. Well, this Sunday in celebration of National Margarita, El Jimador Tequila and Casa Herradura Tequila are hosting a free party at the OH Pool at Scottsdale's Hotel Valley Ho.
