Dia de los Muertos Celebration Saturday, November 1 and Sunday, November 2
This weekend Barrio Queen Tequileria in Old Town Scottsdale will be offering a variety of dining and drinking specials in honor of Dia de Los Muertos. The restaurant and bar will have deals such as $10 Hibiscus Margaritas and $8 Cranberry Fall Sangria, as well as half off Espolon, KAH, and other skeleton themed tequilas and Day of the Dead Beer. For food, look forward to $6 Chorizo Queso Fundido, $22 Roasted Scallops, $20 Pollo Mole Negro, and $8 Pan Dulce. The festivities will also include face painting and sugar skull making for kids from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. (both days) and live music and dancing from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Sunday. Guests are also invited to bring photos of their loved ones to place on a traditional altar to honor the dead.
Wigwam Harvest Wine Festival Saturday, November 1
Head out to Litchfield Park on Saturday night to take place in The Wigwam resorts's Harvest Wine Festival form 6 to 9 p.m. The wine tasting event will feature more than 75 wines from Sonoma, Napa, Paso Robles, Central Coast and the Pacific Northwest. Featured wineries will include Silver Oak, William Hill Estate, Sonoma Cutrer Vineyards, and Grgich Hills Estate. Food and drink will be available for purchase in addition to cases of wine. Tickets to the event cost $30 and include 15 wine tastings and a commemorative glass along with music from John Kaizer & Friends. Tickets can be purchased online and will not be sold at the door.

Holiday Sauce Dine 'n Demo Sunday, November 2
No, it's not too early to start planning your holiday menu and if you're worried about making food your vegan Aunt Carla or gluten-free friend Fred will eat, don't worry because Sage Kitchen is here to help. On Sunday the vegan, gluten-free, and organic restaurant will host a Holiday Sauce Dine 'n Demo at which attendees will learn how to cook sauces such as Vegan Cashew Alfredo Sauce, Buttery Hollandaise, Country-Style Gravy, and Cranberry Vinaigrette. The event includes a demo and Q&A with Sage Kitchen's Chef T. Hanson, as well as a five-course meal of off-menu items paired with tea, and sauce recipe cards to use at home.
