Maine Lobster Lady Friday, January 23

Every summer we watch her go and wait impatiently for her return. We spend the hottest month of the year yearning for a the taste of fresh lobster in a buttery, toasted roll. Yeah, that's right, we're talking about the Maine Lobster Lady, who returned to the Valley earlier this month. This Friday you can catch her at the Capitol Lawn (17th Avenue between Jefferson and Adams) where she'll be serving up lunch from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. with other trucks including The Great Pho King Truck, Frank Food Truck, Luncha Libre, and Grilled Addiction. On Saturday night, you can get your lobstah on at the Food Truck Caravan in Scottsdale (5th Avenue and Goldwater) from 6 to 9 p.m. For more dates and locations check the Maine Lobster Lady Facebook page.

Phoenix Public Market Cafe Saturday, January 24

There's going to plenty of action going on downtown this weekend and Phoenix Public Market Cafe is no exception. The restaurant will be hosting a party complete with an outdoor market of local vendors, corn hole games, food and drink specials, and live entertainment. During the morning expect the usual outdoor farmers market, but in the afternoon the place will transform into a party with an Oskar Blues beer garden and live music from Kalliope. Epicuriad Saturday, January 24

This Saturday some of the Valley's biggest chefs will head to the Musical Instrument Museum in Scottsdale for the 2015 Epicuriad event. The annual throw down will put chef Gregory Wiener of Top of the Rock in Tempe and chef Chris Knouse of Litchfield's at the Wigwam against each other in contest to make the best entrée using only the spirits and ingredients provided. They'll be joined by a long list of chefs such as Brian Archibald of Graduate Hotel Tempe, Justin Beckett of Beckett's Table and Southern Rail, Payton Curry of Brat Haus, and Jared Porter of Clever Koi who will be serving food samples paired with craft beer and wine. The chefs will be competing for the title of Best Pairing and guests will be invited to vote for their favorite combo.
