Citrus Cafe, the long-running French bistro in Chandler (2330 N. Alma School), just reopened two weeks ago after a brief hiatus. Now it's called Andrew's New American at Citrus Cafe, and as the name suggests, chef-owner Andrew Paparella is ushering in some changes.

Paparella, who purchased the restaurant in May 2007, tells me that French cuisine often gets stereotyped as something just for special occasions; many customers would come into the restaurant just for birthdays or anniversaries.

Now, although Paparella is willing to serve customers anything they want off the old menu, he's also unveiled a new seasonal menu:

Andrew's New American.doc Look for honey-thyme-roasted wild boar tenderloin, merlot-braised Black Angus rib eye, and diver scallops with parsnip and pear purée, raisin gastrique, and glazed carrot ribbons.
