35: Carne Asada Burrito from La Frontera Comida Mexicana
Food trucks are all the rage right now, but La Frontera Comida Mexicana has been in the mobile meat business for quite some time. Long enough to craft some of the tastiest Mexican food 16th Street and Van Buren has ever seen. The carne asada burrito in particular is the perfect example of why La Frontera has been and continues to be one of our go-to stops for Mexican food on the run.
The carne asada burrito was packed with delicious Sonoran-style steak marinated and grilled to juicy perfection. No pesky beans or rice fillers here. The caramelization on the meat made it crunchy and tender at the same time. Slightly sweet and smoky from the citrus marinade laced with cumin, chiles, and a quick sear on a hot grill. It comes topped with cilantro and onions, but we recommend adding some hot sauce and guacamole to really take this already awesome burrito over the top. Muy bien.
