A famous name didn't get Maria Maria very far. The upscale Mexican eatery at Tempe Marketplace -- created by legendary musician Carlos Santana and named after his Grammy-winning song -- has closed; its phone number is disconnected and the location is no longer listed on the restaurant's corporate website.
The first location of a national chain with four other outposts, Maria Maria opened in 2008 and featured a menu created by New York chef Roberto Santibanez.
