Wine? Did somebody say wine?
If your ears perk up at the sound of a cork popping out of a bottle, then this weekend's First Press events are for you.
Friday night kicks off with the First Press Grand Tasting at the Hotel Valley Ho, presented by National Bank of Arizona.
As you'd expect, there will be plenty of gourmet nibbles -- which is a good thing, considering that there will also be more than 100 wines from some of the country's top wineries.
Justin Baldwin of JUSTIN Vineyards & Winery will be in the house, too, serving as the event's honorary chair. Meanwhile, chef Eddie Matney of Eddie's House and chef Michael DeMaria of Heirloom will compete before a celebrity panel in the 3rd annual Food Fight.
VIP entry starts at 6 p.m., and general admission is at 7 p.m. Tickets are $75 and $125, respectively. Call 480-774-VINO (8466) to purchase.
If you're ready to stock your cellar with some impressive wines, Saturday night's First Press Fine Wine Auction should be a highlight.

Held at Westin Kierland Resort in Scottsdale from 6 p.m. to midnight, this black tie-optional soiree promises to be a deluxe night out.
The live auction will feature rare, collectible wines from around the world, all of which were donated from vintners and private cellars. There will also be a silent auction where you can bid on luxury travel, entertainment, and dining prizes.
A five-course dinner with wine pairings and live entertainment will get you in the mood for bidding.
Individual tickets are $300, or $500 for VIP.
