Seems like there are wine tastings going on all the time, from your neighborhood grocery store to the ritziest restaurants in the Valley. But how often do you get a chance to sample the harder stuff? And no, I'm not talking about whatever you're carrying in that flask.
This Sunday, the brand-new Sportsman's in Scottsdale (10893 N. Scottsdale Road, at Shea) is hosting special tasting called Whiskies from Around the Globe, led by whiskey expert Tom Turner. Among the featured spirits, there will be Bulleit Bourbon, Crown Royal "Reserve" Canadian Whisky, Bushmills "1608" Irish Whisky, Talisker 18-year Single Malt Scotch, and more.
The tasting starts at 7 p.m. on February 22. The $35 price of admission includes a Riedel spirits glass and a $10 credit towards store purchases that day. Space is limited; call 480-948-0520 to make reservations.
