This post has been updated from its original content.
Fans of Rito's, the tiny family-owned eatery in Central Phoenix and home to some of the Valley's best burritos, may be elated to hear the venerated restaurant has opened a new location.

The new location, however, is in Surprise. Which, admittedly, is kind of a bummer for many of those same fans who don't live close by, but for those in Surprise:
WHOOPEE! WHOOP, WHOOP, WHOOPEE! WHOOPEE, WHOOPEE, WHOOPEE!
Now that that's out of the way, here are the details. Oh, and spoiler alert: same menu and recipes as the original location.

The Surprise location of Rito's Mexican Food comes courtesy of Richie Muñoz, the brother of Rito's founder Rosemary Salinas, who bought Rito's (originally a candy store) with husband Rito in 1976. (Rosemary's daughter Charlette Hansen and her husband David run the original location in Central Phoenix and Rosemary's son operates Rito's Burritos in Glendale.)
With the exception of no chips or chicken, the menu of the Surprise Rito's is the same as the original location -- right down to the recipes. Even the Surprise Rito's green chili burrito -- the delicious mess of meltingly tender beef and heady slow-burning green chili in a fresh tortilla -- tastes as good as it does in Phoenix.

Unlike the Phoenix Rito's, the Surprise location accepts credit cards, has an indoor dining area (no patio), and stays open longer.
"Now I just hope I can have 40-minute wait times and people lined up out of the door," Muñoz says, "like the Phoenix location."
