Aiello's East Coast Italian Dining, the Italian restaurant in Central Phoenix which closed earlier this month after being in business for nearly five years, looks as if it may resurface in a new location closer to downtown Phoenix.

Owned by husband-and-wife team and ex-Manhattanites Joe and Myrah Aiello (who also own Aiello's Salumeria, Isa's Pizza, and Charr in Moon Valley), Joe Aiello tells me they lost their lease at the former location and are currently working on a new one with a 17-story building most of us are familiar with.

In Midtown, along the Central Avenue corridor and directly across the street from the Osborn light rail stop, One Lexington, the loft-style condo and shop complex, may be the new home of the Aiello's original restaurant.

Although it will take a few months to move in if the lease is agreed-upon, Joe Aiello tells me the original restaurant's main menu will stay intact, but with a few new additions for the lunchtime crowd.

Stay tuned for details.
