15. Panko-Fried Soft Shell Crab Sandwich from Nobuo at Teeter House
At Nobuo at Teeter House chef Nobuo Fukuda offers an experience in izakaya, or casual Japanese eating -- but that doesn't me the cuisine is unrefined. On the contrary, the chefs uses top-quality ingredients to craft clean, elegant cuisine. Fukuda crafts Japanese cuisine that's as beautiful to look at as it is wonderful to eat. Each dish is a work of art that can be appreciated by the eyes and the mouth.
For lunch, the panko-fried soft shell crab sandwich is a don't-miss dish. We love the thin but flavorful crust that surrounds the whole soft shell crab, which really pops thanks to a few slices of cucumber and a smear of spicy kanzuri aioli. The dense housemade focaccia bread is flavored with herbs and spices, making it a perfect base for this satisfying sandwich. It's a simple but elevated meal that perfectly exemplifies the chef's talents.
