41: Raw Ahi Tuna Starter at House of Tricks
House of Tricks is back from vacation (yay!) and we couldn't wait to get back to the romantic 1920s cottage in Tempe for a bite or two of chef Kelly Fletcher's tasty New American fare.
One of our favorites? The crazy-fresh raw ahi tuna starter. As beautiful as it is delectable, this fish dish had our taste buds swimming.
Beautifully plated, the ahi tuna, separated by slices of radish and sprinkled with micro radish sprouts, sits atop diced watermelon with streaks of wasabi and soy caramel serving as colorful, lined accents.
The taste of the tuna is instantly clean and fresh with the watermelon pieces providing juicy sweetness and the radishes a crunchy kick. A forkful of each ingredient swirled in a bit of the wasabi and soy caramel provides a well-measured, unique mix of flavors and textures -- one that will have you confirming House of Tricks is the perfect place to fall in love.
