29: Spam Sliders from Maui Dog
Maui Dog may be as close to an island vacation as we're getting in the near future. Maui Dog is a tiny little eatery run by some of the nicest folks in the biz, and it most certainly delivers a bit of island flair to our otherwise hot and arid lives. So swing by and take a bit of extra time to savor your "tigers blood" shaved ice and Maui-style eats, particularly the spam sliders, which are an amazing combination of salty, spicy, and sweet.
When we say Maui-style, we're referring to spicy garlic mayo, passion fruit-spiked mustard, shredded coconut, and pineapple chunks dressing that indelible sliced spam nestled between sweet Hawaiian buns. Only something as strange as spam could support such an odd combo of unexpected and delicious ingredients.
