The 2013 Big Brain Culinary Award Winner Is Welcome Diner (And They're Celebrating Tonight!)

Have you heard? We announced the winners of our 2013 Big Brain Awards last weekend at Artopia.
Leading up to the big event we introduced you to the three finalists in the culinary category: Hayden Flour Mill, Welcome Diner and the Simple Farm and Saturday night winners Michael Babcock and Jenn Robinson took home the award - and a $500 prize.
They're celebrating the win tonight at the Welcome Diner with $4 draft beers and hurricanes from 5 p.m. to midnight. They'll also be serving fried chicken, 1/2 pound burgers with french fries, braised pork, red beans and rice, collard greens and fried avacado po'boys.
It's also a celebration of their new summer hours which kick in today. Starting April 30, the diner will be open Tuesday through Sunday from 5 p.m. to midnight.
