We've got some bad news for those of you who never got the chance to check out the charming The Simple Farm in Scottsdale. The urban farm -- which is also the private residence of owners Lylah and Michael Ledner -- is no longer going to be open to the public on Thursday mornings.
"Though it was a difficult decision, closing the Farmer's Market and shifting all our focus into our CSA program, workshops and our caramel business was clearly the best way to fufill our goal," writes Lylah in a press release.
Up to this point, guests were invited to visit the small farm located at 9080 E. Cactus Road in Scottsdale, to pick up produce, buy caramels, and visit the Ledner's goats. It was a beautiful place to spend a morning and pick up artisan products from both the Ledners and a handful of other vendors.
But now that's come to an end.
The decision will allow the couple to focus on their new vision for the farm: "The Simple Farm is a private, self-sustaining farm offering inspirational workshops to the community, and providing fresh local produce exclusively for our CSA members and active Farm Members."
Those who want to continue getting produce from The Simple Farm will be able to do so by joining the farm's Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program. Sign up for the fall program will begin soon and will cost $228 for the 8 week season (October thru December). Space will be limited but members will be able to purchase add ons from Grano de Vida breads, Crow's Dairy, Nourished, Pistol Whipped Pastry, and JH Grass Fed Beef and Chicken during CSA pick up.
Fans of The Simple Farms Farmstead Goat Milk Caramels will still be able to purchase them online and pick up orders at the farm.

The Simple Farm will continue to offer classes such as "The Craft of Cooking" and plans to expand its schedule of classes in the future. For a complete schedule check The Simple Farm website. The Ledners also plans to expand the farm itself with more produce, goats, and additional livestock.
The farm will also continue to be available for special events and occasions.
