The World's Strongest Beer Is 67.5 Percent Alcohol Content

The two guys from Scottish brewery Brewmeister have unveiled their newest creation, Snake Vemon.

The brew apparently is the world's strongest beer, with a ridiculously high alcohol content of 65.7 percent ABV. In case you were wondering, that means this beer is stronger than most liquors and most definitely should not be used for any drinking games unless you want to die.

The brewers, Lewis Shand and John McKenzie, told the Daily Record that they wanted to make this beer stronger than their last "world's strongest beer" because people said the last one, at 65 percent ABV, didn't taste strong enough.

"You're not supposed to drink more than 35 milliliters in one sitting. It should be poured like it's whisky," Lewis told the Daily Record. "There's too many bland beers out there, and we are trying to push the limits. It's still a beer, but it's something different."

Snake Venom replaces the brewery's Armageddon beer for the title of world's strongest beer. Armaggedon was released in 2012 and contains 65 percent alcohol. The brewers say they tried to cover up the intensity of the beer because they were afraid that if it was too strong, people wouldn't like it. But when critics said the beer wasn't strong enough, they decided to try again and pull out all the stops.

The strongest beer turf war dates back to 2010 when Scottish brewery BrewDohg released their The End of History beer (in taxidermy squirrel bottles) that contained 55 percent ABV. Not long after Dutch brewery Koelschip released a Start the Future brew that boasted a 60 percent alcohol content.

The End of History beer cost a whopping $732 a bottle, which makes the £50, or about $80, price tag for Snake Vemon look pretty darn good.
