OK, folks. So, yesterday, when we announced National Lasagna Day deals at Buca di Beppo, we said, it seems like every day on the calendar is the National Day of Something.

As it turns out, we were right. Today is National Cheesecake Day!

You know what that means: cheesecake deals.

FEZ, the Moroccan-themed restaurant on Central near Indian School, announced a National Cheesecake Day deal yesterday on Twitter. If you mention that Twitter announcement there today, you'll get half-off "Trish's amazing FEZ cheesecake."

That's referring to Trish Lucy, the pastry chef at FEZ, according to General Manager Thomas Smith. It's a mascapone cheesecake with buttered graham cracker crust, and chocolate hazelnut topping. We might pay full price for something that decadent.

That's not all, though. The Cheesecake Factory (who else?) is offering half-off any slice of any of the 30 different kinds of cheesecakes on the menu today for guests who dine in. There's a location in Chandler, Peoria, Scottsdale, Phoenix and Mesa.

The chain is also introducing a new kid of cheesecake today, Stefanie's Ultimate Red Velvet Cake Cheesecake, named after Stefanie Gaxiola, whose recipe won out over thousands in a "What's Your Flavor?" competition. It will be on the menu for one year, and 25 cents of each slice sold will go to the charity, Feeding America.
