To call the annual All Souls Procession in Tucson a mere parade wouldn't be doing it justice. The long-running Day of the Dead event, which has been held every year since 1990, brings together more the 100,000 people to the city’s downtown — including members of the fringe and arty crowds from throughout the state — for a sacred and creative celebration that honors the dearly departed. The 2013 edition on Sunday, November 3, was much of the same, with tens of thousands gathering to march — many of who were adorned in black and white makeup — and celebrate both the living and the dead.
