Baking an Apple Crumble Pie with Tonya Saidi of Mamma Toledo's and The Pie Hole

Mamma Toledo's pie crust is made of one cup flour, 1/3 cup shortening, 6 tbsp of water and an egg for the egg wash.

As Chow Bella gets ready for the annual Pie Social event, Saturday, November 16, we decided to take a pie-baking lesson from two of Roosevelt Row's premier bike bakers. Today, Tonya Saidi of Mamma Toledo's and The Pie Hole teaches us how to make the filling and crumble for an apple crumble pie.

Pie Social is from 2 to 5 p.m. at the "What Should Go Here" Pop Up Park at Second and Roosevelt streets. Community bakers are welcome to bring two homemade pies in exchange for tasting tickets. See the full how-to with Tonya Saidi here.
