Go Topless Day in Phoenix, 8/25/12

 @maxonepercent  @poophead.live I'm far from naive, just unmoved. We're not exhibitionists, exhibitionists flaunt themselves for perverse reasons, I assure you mine are strictly for equality, of course you can't see past my tits to see the human being that is tired of women being treated like second class citizens, like sexual objects, like nothing, like children who get to be told what to do all the time. So bared breasts are damaging to the very moral fabric of our society? Then the answer is simple, make men wear bikini tops or tape over their nipples, as a law. It's fairness that I'm after, after all. The law is absurd(i.e. I can walk around with pasties, my breasts completely bared, so what is it about guy nipples that makes them legally more bearable than female nipples?) Get over the danger part, you care none that women are hurt and taken advantage of every day, so spare me. We know that some men are rapist assholes; when an attractive woman walks down the street clothed she is singled out and gawked at, stared at, hit on, stalked, hurt, so being topless or not doesn't change that, this protest brings awareness to the real underlying feelings on breasts and to the folly of men. 

 @jmduffy222  @poophead.live Like it or not breasts ARE a sexual trait and will always be seen as one, no amount of exposure is going to change that fact.  Moreover, why should a handful of exhibitionists (who are perfectly free to walk around topless in certain adults-only venues) be allowed to force an uncomfortable change upon everyone else in society?  Also, you seem pretty naive about the motivations of men.  Common sense dictates that young women walking around topless are only going to attract negative attention upon themselves which could become potentially dangerous, not only for themselves but for the general public.  I think a good analogy is the use of alcohol, it should only be consumed in certain controlled environments, not walking down the street in front of the local elementary school.

 @maxonepercent  @poophead.live I did NOT say that women were all united on this, if you read my previous post I said it's not like everyone will just take their shirts off the next day. No, I know there is an outstanding opposition to this, but I don't care.When I threw this protest, I found women from all demographics that liked this idea. A 92 year-old woman even came out in support because she had gotten kicked out of church for wearing pants when she was younger. I'm not at all surprised that some women don't agree, but don't you be surprised for one second if there are some who do. Both sexes are known to get upset when a woman breast feeds, and how uptight of a society are we if we get upset when a woman nurses her young? Our society needs to take a serious look at the way we view breasts(negative, sex objects). Just because you don't agree, and can't see it, doesn't mean other people don't. if you're against it, then vote against it, but don't think for one second that your arguments are valid and that your perspective on breasts is healthy.

 @poophead.live  @jmduffy222 Women ARE the majority of the human population and make up a majority of voters as well.  You act like all women are united in the desire to walk around topless, and that is absurd.  I think you might want to talk to a few women outside your circle of "rebel-without-a-clue" friends and see what they think about letting young ladies walk around with their tits bouncing in the breeze, you will probably be surprised to find that most women do not agree with you.  In reality, I don't think men would be nearly as opposed to allowing women to walk around topless as other women will be.  Just look at how upset other women get when a mother breast-feeds in public!

 @maxonepercent  @jmduffy222 We're definitely not asking for nudity, just the same rights where men can go topless. Of course the majority is against us! When hasn't it been? When women wanted the right to vote the majority was against them for a long time. They eventually got the right to vote because they demanded it. I'm simply letting society know that I don't think it's fair that I would be labeled a sex offender being topless at the lake, when my fiance is standing topless right next to me. We want equal rights, either men should wear a bikini top at the lake or women should be allowed to be topless too if they so choose. It's not like if we got the right to go topless everyone would do it, it's just that we don't think it's fair that our breasts are so damaging to peoples psyches that we require laws that tell us how to dress. Still need a valid argument.

 @jmduffy222 Here is a valid argument.  Nudity, both male and female is offensive to many people.  We live in a democracy where the majority rules.  If the majority of people are offended by seeing half-naked women walking around then, as a society, we have the right to enforce laws to prevent it.  Personally, I think men walking around without their shirts on is every bit as trashy-looking as women doing the same thing.  People like you would be happy if we were all running around buck naked and eating leaves and twigs like a bunch of damn dirty apes.
