Remezcla PHX at Monarch Theatre, 2/8/14

The Monarch Theatre was filled with both the cutting-edge and Latin-infused sounds and throngs of moving bodies on Saturday, February 8, during Remezcla PHX. The self-described "alt-Latino party" featured tastemaking electronica -- including moombahton and live psych-electro – via DJ sets from such burgeoning artists as Mexican Institute of Sound, Tijuana's Los Macuanos, Musa Mind, and Melo. Needless to say, there was much in the way of dancing as attendees grooved to "new and next music from international and local acts that are pushing Latin electronic forward."

The photographer needs to buy another lens. Her photos make everyone look awful. Try something a lot 'flatter.' (Not so wide angle - hint.)

Just sayin.'

Adjusting the flash also would be a good idea (so folks don't all look so plae and washed out), as would varying the height and distance from the subjects (pick angles that flatter people -- unless you are really short, which the photographer apparently may be based on the angles of all images in all of her sets -- get a step stool if needed.)

Just sayin.'

A little instruction from a pro could go a long way with the apparently amateur photographer.  (Photog: Why not take a class at your local CC? It isn't enough to simply buy a cheap Canon DSLR on sale at Amazon.com. One has to understand the basic principles of photography to take good pictures.)

Just sayin.'

Finally, it could be a good idea to follow the industry/journalism/website standard -- just maybe - and apply a little photo editing to make the images well-framed, etc.

Just sayin.'

Doing those things probably would net the website more viewers and the photographer more people willing to be in her snapshots at events.

Just sayin.'
