Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu held a press conference Saturday, February 18, the day after the New Times broke the story about his gay relationship and alleged threats against his Mexican ex-lover: "Paul Babeu's Mexican Ex-Lover Says Sheriff's Attorney Threatened Him With Deportation". During the press conference, Babeu admitted to being gay and having a "personal relationship" with Jose, the source for the New Times' story. Babeu also announced that he's stepping away from Mitt Romney's Arizona presidential campaign team, which he co-chaired. Read more on the press conference here.
