Swine Flu Hits Mexico City

Even drivers around El Centro in Mexico were wearing facemasks in hopes of preventing the spread of swine flu.

Over 100 deaths due to swine flu has been reported in Mexico over the past few days. Mexico City has since cancelled school until May 6th and closed all museums, the pyramids of Teotihuacan, and other public areas in hopes of containing the flu. It affects young adults the worst, unlike normal flu strains, because their healthy immune systems go into overdrive and overwhelming their system. All over Mexico City soldiers are handing out free face masks and promoting healthy habits of washing hands and disinfection. There have been cases reported in New York, San Antonio, San Diego and Kansas.
