The mural scene in Phoenix has exploded; it's hard to find a wall in the Roosevelt neighborhood that doesn't have some kind of mural. Most of them literally appear overnight and some are only up for a few weeks before they're "buffed out." More often than not, these murals are subject to tagging and the additions of street artists, who also paint on walls, which begs the ultimate question: Is it cool to make art on top of someone else's art and call that art?...full story
