Vigil Held for Dogs that Died at Gilbert Boarding Facility

Over 200 dog lovers and many owners of the 20 dogs that perished at Green Acre Dog Boarding recently in Gilbert gathered at Cesar Chavez Plaza in Phoenix on the evening of Saturday, June 28, 2014 for a candlelight vigil. In addition to those mourning or paying condolences, many were in attendance to cry for justice, especially due to the circumstances surrounding the incident. Sheriff Joe Arpaio spoke to the crowd about his devotion to conducting a proper investigation to find out the truth of what happened in this tragedy. Arpaio went on to state that they are still actively searching for the one dog that apparently escaped the situation and that it was important for the dog, Valor, to be found as he may provide valuable evidence.
