From Dark

From Dark For the uninitiated, From Dark makes for a good introduction to the various extreme-metal subgenres. Not because they aren’t extreme enough, but because their work is mature enough to transcend the many cliches that less-advanced bands so often fall into. Their self-released debut album, The Answer to Infection, shows that From Dark know how to do more than the many bands mindlessly slashing through guitar riffs, gurgling lyrics, and wailing away on their drums to cover up a lack of songwriting talent. Rather, From Dark can ease their way into a whirlwind of sonic fury, easing off at just the right time and showing impressive range in the process. And, as good as their album is, their live show provides far more entertainment.
