Matthew Reveles

Matthew Reveles:
It’s 2009, but listening to the melodious sounds of yesteryear coming from the acoustic six-string of Matthew Reveles, you might think of a Volkswagen Bus full of long hair, and plenty of peace-sign flashing, The Okies on their way to California during the Dust Bowl, or the journeys of The Oregon Trail… and I’m not talking about that elementary school video game. With songs about being broke, insecure, depressed, having love, losing love, and being a general man-about-town, Reveles captures a glimpse of life, sometimes so dour that we can’t help but hear more from this modern-day folk hero. One thing is for sure about this born and bred Glendalian, he knows his way around a harmonica, much like a surgeon knows his way around a scalpel, or a mechanic who knows a thing or two about cars. Reveles has been a local favorite for awhile now, and with the recent release of his debut album, We’ll Meet Halfway, he’ll have plenty of time (and potential) to grow bigger than The Valley itself.
