Despite incorporating the Latin term for female goddess in their name, not a single member of Tractor Pull Divas is a women, in fact, according to their MySpace page, the band consists of guys who have variously shared the stage with Bo Diddley, Ricky Skaggs, Switchfoot and Third Eye Blind. Listening to them is figuratively (and maybe a little bit literally) mind-blowing. If you yearn for a return to the Valley music days of old with classic Gin Blossoms and The Refreshments blasting through smoky now-defunct venues, Tractor Pull Divas exemplify that archetypal Southwestern Sound without sounding like an exact copy. They don’t dumb the music down, or go over your head with complicated rhythms… Tractor Pull Divas simply rock out. They even have a banjo! With bluegrass sensibility with a modern rock feel, what else can you expect from one of the best alt-country acts in town?
