Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station, located 47 miles west of downtown Phoenix near Tonopah, Arizona, is the largest such facility in the U.S. It produces about 3.3 gigawatts and supplies power to approximately four million people. During a recent refueling of one of it's three units, New Times was offered a rare look inside its workings.
