Downright freezing, in fact. But will it be cold enough for actual snow to fall?
It’s doubtful, but that won’t be stopping the partymeisters at American Junkie in Scottsdale, who are bringing in their own truckload of snow and decking the street for Friday’s Pray For Snow Block Party.
The wintery wingding will showcase snowboard stunts in abundance at 15 professional riders will conduct demonstrations on a 100-foot ramp.
While the skiing season at Northern Arizona resorts like the Snowbowl doesn’t start for another few weeks, snowbunnies of the Valley can prep for the slopes during the party as various helmets, boots, and other snowboard gear will be given away.

Snowboarding trips usually include plenty of drunken fun, so a number of drink specials will be offered, including discounts on Don Julio and Ketel One cocktails.
Local band Jake Dean and the Granting will also perform at the party, and the turntable trio of Adam Shero, DJ Nick Jagger and DJ Earth will also be in the mix.
The Pray For Snow Block Party will take place at 6 p.m. on Friday at American Junkie, 4363 North 75th Street in Scottsdale. Call 480-990-3000 for cover info.
