Casey Moore's This Tempe party institution is a must-stop before and after most ASU football games. However, its expansive patio and casual atmosphere make for a great place to hang out after a long day of boozing in the sun at the ballpark. Plus, the stick-to-your-ribs fried bar bites, like mozzarella sticks, chicken tenders, and fried zucchini, will help you pump your energy back up. Just be aware that the crowd drastically shifts from families and sports fans to a bunch of hipsters around 9 p.m. So if you plan on staying all night, bring your Unknown Pleasures T-shirt.
Salty Señorita The new location of Salty Señorita on the south side of Old Town definitely got a Scottsdale-style facelift. The chic, updated look still services a more casual crowd, so don't feel the need to dress up. Salty Señorita also has a large patio in front for sunny spring lounging. As with its old location, we're sure crowds will flock to Salty Señorita for brews and margaritas after the game.
Lustre Rooftop Garden Though there aren't any Cactus League games near Lustre's downtown Phoenix locale, this should be your go-to spot for relaxation and fun if you're staying in the area. The rooftop pool and bar will surely oblige some cool-down time, and you can even go downstairs and check out the fantastic cocktails at Blue Hound if you're looking for something a little fancier. Lustre usually has a good mix in its crowd, due to its proximity to downtown stadiums, hip atmosphere, and the fact that its attached to Hotel Palomar.
C.A.S.A. Sunbá Brazillian drink lovers should take note of C.A.S.A.'s cocktail program, which features some pretty legit caipirnhas. Located off Mill Avenue, the restaurant and bar is a great stop if you're strolling down Tempe's main drag shopping for souvenirs. The sunny upstairs and downstairs patios tend to fill up with ASU students and Tempeans alike when the weather is nice. So you might want to head out after the seventh inning stretch if things aren't looking good for your team anyway.
Gringo Star Street Bar Just down the street from C.A.S.A. Sunbá, you'll find one of the newest and most talked about additions to Tempe's party scene: Gringo Star. A popular destination for 20-somethings in and out of college, this spot definitely skews younger with its party vibe. With a pretty rockin' vintage arcade game selection and a reasonably priced menu of street food favorites like bacon-wrapped hot dogs, it's easy to get lost in Gringo Star's entertaining atmosphere for hours -- especially if you're a fan of Goldeneye or Mario Kart.
Four Peaks Grill & Tap If you want the true Phoenix craft beer experience, Four Peaks is the way to go for a laid-back hang out with your ballpark buddies. The newly opened grill and tap in North Scottsdale features all of the same great food and brews as the original brewery in Tempe with a more convenient location for Diamondbacks and Rockies fans coming from Salt River Fields. Plus, you can enjoy happy hour deals daily from 2 until 6 p.m.
AZ 88 This big, bright, and beautiful bar space has been wowing martini aficionados for years, though it also has a lovely covered patio. With 12 different martinis and a full menu of salads, sandwiches, and more, AZ 88 is more of an upscale option for Spring Training fun. Sorry, folks. That likely means you'll have to ditch the ballpark gear and smeared-on sunscreen for some nicer duds before you drop in. However, it also means you probably won't get stuck sitting next to a "woo girl" or frat bro all night.
Mabel's on Main Mabel's on Main is the perfect place in Scottsdale to take that cocktail snob in your life. The ever-changing menu of unique drinks features both old classics and inventive new options. The patio in front is only half the action. There's a luxe lounge inside that is delightfully dark and cave-like -- just don't expect to let loose and go crazy because Mabel's is more of a swanky joint reserved for imbibing and fine conversation in your fanciest garb.
RnR The reason to go to RnR is all in the name. Rest and recovery is plentiful in this large North Scottsdale bar and restaurant, since it opens right at 8 a.m. and stays open until 2 a.m. That means you can snag some bottomless Bloody Marys and breakfast before the ballpark and then stop back after the game to keep the party going all night. If that's not one-stop shopping, we don't know what is.
Sandbar If you're staying (or living) way up near Desert Ridge in North Phoenix, don't worry. Sandbar has your boisterous post-game activities covered. The main attraction here is the covered cabanas and sandy simulated beach ground, which is a fun getaway without getting away option of locals. The bar even features a ladies night on Thursdays and the occasional concert.
