Movie Night Wednesdays: Pieces of April

Before Tom Cruise but after Dawnson's Creek , Katie Holmes was April, a wayward "first pancake" young adult setting out to create Thanksgiving dinner for her very skeptical family. Heartfelt and humorous, Pieces of April is an indie depiction of family, the holidays, and how some people just weren't meant to be cooks. The movie screening starts at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, November 26, at Burton Barr Central Library. For more information, visit www.phoenixpubliclibrary.org.

Off The Cuff Comedy Improv

This week Changing Hands is bringing in the laughs with its reoccurring free event Off The Cuff Comedy Improv. Kicking off at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, November 25, this all-ages event will feature the as-you-like-it performance humor of the nonprofit comedy troupe, Off The Cuff. With a choose-your-own-adventure style of jokes and audience participation, it's guaranteed that no two improv shows are the same. For more information, visit www.changinghands.com.

Coronado Neighborhood Art Fair

From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 29, the historic Coronado neighborhood is putting on a community art fair. Visitors will have a chance to mix and mingle with neighbors and fellow artists as well as purchase some handmade and one-of-kind gifts for the holidays including dreamcatchers, paintings, Christmas ornaments, and jewelry. For details, visit the Coronado Art Fair on Facebook.

Editor's note: This post has been modified from its original version, which incorrectly stated the date of Off The Cuff's show as November 26. The show takes pace November 25.
