The Salvage Yard

Re-design, re-purpose, and re-sell. Those are the three R's of the Salvage Yard, a warehouse sale happening on the second weekend of every month. The event will offer vintage, handmade, and one-of-a-kind finds perfect for those who prefer to bypass the big department stores in their holiday shopping. The Salvage Yard sale will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, December 11 through 13, and from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, December 14 at Rusty Saturday, 12815 North Cave Creek Road. Architecture For Place: A Glenn Murcutt Exhibit

View renderings, photographs, drawings, and models of work by Australia-based architect Glenn Murcutt. The exhibition will showcase Murcutt's internationally award-winning principles and designs, with special notice to his early views on sustainable architecture. The opening reception will run from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, December 12, and the exhibition will remain on view through Saturday, April 4, at the ASU Art Museum. Fantasy of Lights Boat Parade Presented by SRP

Tempe is turning into tinsel town as the Fantasy of Lights Boat Parade returns. SRP will help launch up to 50 brightly lit boats across Tempe Town Lake while Tempe Beach Park will fill with more than a thousand luminarias. The free holiday event begins at 7 p.m. on Saturday, December 13, and concludes with a fireworks display. For more information, visit www.downtowntempe.com.
