Mystery Movie Night

What's in the box? Not even we know that. Every Tuesday night at 7:30 p.m., the good folks at Lawn Gnome Publishing put their projector to good use with a mystery movie screening. The featured flick is always a surprise but generally resides in the genre of strange and unusual. For more information (if you can get it), visit the event on Facebook.

Chasing Ice

Ice scream, you scream. As part of the Sustainability Solutions Festival, Arizona Science Center will be offering a free screening of the Emmy-winning documentary, Chasing Ice. Follow National Geographic photographer James Balong as he goes to extreme lengths to capture the effects of climate change in the Arctic. Following the film, there will be a discussion led by geoscientist Wally Broecker and ASU professor of natural science Becky Ball. The screening starts at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, February 17. Light Rail Plays 2.0

Rising Youth Theatre is once again bringing culture to the commuter with Light Rail Plays 2.0. The five-minute productions will be performed on the trains and at the stops along Central Avenue, beginning at Roosevelt Street and continuing all the way to the Camelback Road. Audience members should arrive 15 minutes early to meet with their tour guides. Showtimes are 6, 7, and 8 p.m. on Friday, February 20; and 4, 5, and 6 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, February 21 and 22. All though these ride-along shows are free, light rail passes must be purchased, and a donation of $10 is encouraged to keep the program running. For more information, visit the Light Rail Plays 2.0 on Eventbrite or on Facebook.
