The evening will start at The Original Hamburger Works, 2801 North 15th Avenue, for happy hour at 4 p.m. Friday, August 8. The group will then make the four-mile ride to the ballpark on a casual, all-ages and all-experience-levels-welcome ride, which will utilize as many bike lanes as possible. Once the game is over, riders can meet back up at Gate J at the field around 10 p.m. to bike back with the group.
While the event is a fun way to get out and bike around town with your fellow cycling enthusiasts, the best part is that the $12 ticket price (which is normally $22) includes a $2 donation to the bike advocacy group. Phoenix Mercury vs. Minnesota Lynx
It'd be pretty easy for sports fans to slouch into the doldrums of summer right about now. Chances are, if you're an amateur photographer, then you're nighttime work is lacking some serious flash. But the good news is, you're not alone. In fact, the folks at Desert Botanical Garden are so set on getting you of out the dark and into the nighttime photography know-how, they're offering a special moonscape photography class. In this intimate class led by Jeff Lowman, students can receive one-on-one instruction for taking their evening photography to the next level.
The moonscape photography class will be offered Sunday, August 10, at 1201 North Galvin Parkway. The class runs from 7 to 10 p.m. Admission is limited to 12 people.
