Alley Cats

If someone asks to have words with you in an alley, expect fisticuffs. However, John Lynn, the host of Words in the Alley: Feral Poetry, just wants to stoke your latent creative juices. You see, Lynn used to secretly write poems until local open mics coaxed him out of his shell. He hopes to do the same for others each Tuesday night in the alley behind A Shot of Java. "We're open to any style of poetry and any level of experience," says Lynn. The Tuesday, July 29, edition of Words will see Jeremiah Blue of Phoenix's 2008 National Poetry Slam team as the featured performer in addition to the kickass open mic.
