Blame the purchasing power of adult aficionados or the astonishing array of assembled talent, but comics are booming. Just look at conventions: Once small regional affairs, today Arizona alone hosts multiple cons annually.
The 2011 chaos kicks off with Amazing Arizona Comic Con, headlined by four-time Eisner winner Jeph Loeb and zombie pimp extraordinaire Robert Kirkman.
Theyre joined by Rob Liefeld (Deadpool), J.T. Krul (Teen Titans, Green Arrow), Andy Kuhn (Firebreather), Joe Benitez (Lady Mechanika), and John Layman (Chew). Kirkman collaborators Ryan Ottley (Walking Dead) and Cory Walker (Invincible) will haunt Artists Alley alongside 30 other exhibitors, including WildStorm and Zenescope contingents, while Walking Dead fans can shamble over and pick the brains of actors Jon Bernthal (Shane) and Steven Yeun (Glenn) as they join Kirkman for the Ultimate Zombie Showdown.
