Body Talk

Hi. You’re fat.

Oh, sorry. Was that an evil thing to say? We’re merely reiterating the message that you most likely tell yourself (assuming you’re a “healthy” American) every morning when you look in the mirror, right?

That’s awesome. Way to live your life.

In case you weren’t aware, there’s a better way to live. And, lucky for you, this method doesn’t involve diet and exercise -- it’s just a shift in perspective. Playwright Margaux Laskey explores the mental malleability of self-esteem and body-image issues in Size Ate, a musical that follows her trials, tribulations, and ultimate triumphs through eating disorders. The sad yet comical display is a part of ASU’s Body Pride 2010 and is followed by a topical discussion with the audience.
