Brave Nu World

There's no denying that women, in our Western society, are constantly sexualized. Just think of art history. Since man figured out how to paint, he's been slapping up images of one reclining nude after another. It's a lot of pressure for us chicks.

One way to deal is to talk it out. Another way is to get drunk while listening to music. And yet another method is to beat the crap out of each other. All of which are going down at Heard Museum’s new NU (Native + You) series on Friday, May 15. Chime in on a discussion about “Women, Sex & the Arts” moderated by local arts pusher Cindy Dach, grab a cocktail and listen to melodic spins by DJ Brazilia, and watch the riot grrls of the Arizona Roller Derby League do their thing.
