Brew Romance

Arizona Beer Week has made a habit of starting strong. And the 14th annual Strong Beer Festival aims high -- in alcohol content, at least. At last count, 111 breweries have signed on from such microbrew hotbeds as Arizona, Colorado, California, Oregon, New Mexico, and, yes, Nebraska. Australia, Belgium, and Canada are featured international exhibitors. All told, more than 500 different offerings, including many brewed specifically for this event, will be available. Fear not, however; those preferring hoppy IPAs, crisp lagers, or nutty browns will also find brews to their liking. Everyone receives a four-ounce commemorative tasting glass.

Drink up (but eat, too), when AZ Beer Week kicks off from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday, February 15, at Steele Indian School Park, 300 East Indian School Road. Admission is $15; VIP is $20 for more drink tix and early entry. Designated drivers tickets are $10. Visit
