As great works of literature and pop culture have taught us, forces of good will always have a vile and villainous nemesis to oppose them.

And as anyone who’s seen Anchorman can attest, the (marginally) heroic Channel 4 News Team’s eternal enemies will always be Wes Mantooth and his rival news crew. In the gonzo 2004 Will Ferrell comedy, the rivalry resulted in a chaotic street fight, but on Saturday, February 4, their enmity will take the form of dueling shopping carts during the equally gonzo Phoenix Idiotarod.

Like most of the 36 different teams involved with the annual event, the two Anchorman-inspired teams will dress in costume and race through downtown Phoenix while battling with one another. While the throwing of tridents may (or may not) be involved, expect to witness plenty of insults being hurled as teams speed along the streets before stopping at nearby bars to engage in goofy challenges. Other rivalries will also unfold during the race, such as the legendary Art Clokey character Gumby and his girls taking on Pokey's Peeps.
