When Kyllan Maney's not creating her own work in the studio, the Phoenix-based artist likely is teaching a group of eager teenagers how to. Maney's currently the Head of the Art Department at New School for the Arts and Academics, where she teaches painting, mixed media, and portfolio.
This Third Friday, January 18, Maney will fill GreenHAUS gallery with the latest series of her works, titled "Radial Birdification." Maney's work is highly detailed. She graduated from ASU with a BFA in painting and continues to take classes in painting and life drawing. You might have spotted her flowers and animal portraits at Art One, the now-defunct Paulina Miller Gallery, Nelson Fine Arts Center, Mesa City Library, Tempe Post Office, and Phoenix Art Museum.
