Hopeful authors get rejection letters piled higher than a stack of Nicolas Cages unpaid bills, while wannabe singers are dissed on national TV. Artists have it easy -- galleries that arent interested usually just ignore them. But when award-winning photographer Joel Meyerowitz juried Arizona State Universitys latest student show, the artists watched as he turned photos that didnt make the cut face-down, Top Model-style.
Ouch.
Meyerowitz picks are featured in the An Equation of the Fanciful and Bizarre exhibit.
According to Student Photographers Association vice president Logan Bellew, Meyerowitz said, The student photographers at ASU are extremely sensitive, and seeing our work gave him hope for the future of photography." Good thing that sensitivity didn't extend to student reactions, or there wouldve been tears to rival the Michael Jackson memorial.
