The immigration debate in Arizona has been a seemingly endless inferno this year. For all the real-life drama that the crooked powers that be brought upon us, we’ll be glad to see the drama become stage comedy at New Carpa Theater Company’s American Pastorela: Show Us Your Papers.

State senator Russell Pearce snatched Arizonan Dickface of the Year honors out of Sheriff Joe’s clutches with his SB1070 trump card (which also cemented Jan Brewer’s gubernatorial win). So it’s only fair that the President-elect of the Arizona Senate becomes the villain du jour, by way of a deal with the devil, in James E. Garcia’s latest annual holiday yarn concerning the Hernandez family’s trek from Sonora to Phoenix, via Bethlehem.
